Description: Aditya is a boutique property located on a secluded stretch of beach in Rathgama, midway between the hedonistic beach resort of Hikkaduwa and the historic old town of Galle. The drive from Colombo is about three hours. The Adityas is the common name for the 12 sun gods, said to dwell in the highest heavens, sustainers of the celestial light. It is an appropriate name for a quite wonderful property designed both to de-stress and exhilarate. A range of facilities include: En suite spa service, a well-equipped gym, a yoga room and a library with an eclectic selection of books, music and movies.
Rooms: 12 Spacious and elegant suites – five Garden Suites, six Ocean Suites and the Grand Surya Suite. Each is named after one the solar deities of Hindu mythology. This is because each suite is unique in layout and decor, each individually appointed with authentic art and antiques drawn from the region.
All are equipped with large-screen TVs, DVD/CD players, minibars, safes, hairdryers, tea & coffee service, his & her sinks, vanity mirrors, and most spectacularly, private plunge pools.
The Garden Suites have spacious verandas that open onto intimate private gardens.
The Ocean Suites have expansive balconies that provide breathtaking ocean vistas.
The grand Surya Suite is the ultimate in luxury accommodation - a two-story penthouse with a vast open air terrace overlooking the sea.
Dining
The Amal restaurant has views of the beach and offers a selection of both eastern and western cuisine, with seafood a particular strength. Guests may request from the master chef their own choice of menu (subject only to time and availability) and they can eat whenever they choose. In-room dining is another potential delight. The bar, by Sri Lankan standards, has a decent selection of wines and cocktails.
